Ronald A. Franz- Gave Alex a ride. Him and Alex took photos together. 80 years old. Took alex to oh-my-God-hot springs. When Ron was in the army, his wife and son were killed by a drunk driver and he started to hit the whiskey hard. He started adopting kids and Alex reminded him of that and Alex said he was from West Virginia. He was polite, friendly and well groomed. Spent lots of time together. Left him off at the San Diego Waterfront. Picked him up in California, got food and went back to Satin City and asked Alex if he would be his grandson but Alex dodged the question. Franz left Alex on the shoulder of Interstate 70. Alex sent a long and heart felt letter to Ron and gave him advice and Ron took it. After he heard that Alex died he turned into an atheist and started to drink again but made him sick.
